• In the heart of Brussels, where art meets enchantment, the Art Yi Gallery proudly presents an extraordinary journey into the realm of whimsical creatures and forgotten innocence. "Whispers of Innocence: A Tale of New Animals in 2023" invites you to step into the captivating world of French artist Sophie Verger, where imagination knows no bounds, and the wonder of childhood is reborn in magnificent animal sculptures.

• It is a very old story, perhaps a myth, perhaps not, when the earth was a garden where they lived in peace, an era of harmony and of games: the childhood of the world. The animals remember the lost paradise, the Garden of Eden which can only be reached through the path of childhood and which can only be glimpsed with a look unencumbered by the ugliness of the present time.

• It is here that Sophie Verger guides us, among the beasts of the museum, in a tranquil world where peace and carefree bliss reign... carefree, it is necessary to brave the Laws of Gravity as her models often do: where art reigns, with a vigorous trunk nothing is impossible.

“I work on the thread of emotion, on what helps us to live; a meeting, childhood memories, an animal cares, the beauty of things. "

• Sophie Verger was born in Paris in 1953. This enchanting exhibition unveils 40 remarkable sculptures, showcasing the latest creations in 2023 by the artist. With tender craftsmanship, she breathes life into beloved animals, including bears, elephants, horses, giraffes, hippos, oxen, lions, penguins, and many more. Each sculpture is a testament to the artist's remarkable skill and her profound connection with the natural world.
