• In the heart of Brussels, where art meets dream, the Art Yi Gallery proudly presents an extraordinary adventure into an old childhood dream and forgotten innocence. “Master of Speed” invites you to immerse yourself in the imaginative universe of Belgian sculptor Lieven D’Haese, where creativity defies boundaries and the essence of speed is reborn. Through his poetic bronze works, cars and children become timeless travelers—carrying us into a realm where motion, play, and freedom are eternally alive.

• Born in 1957 in Moanda, Congo, Lieven D’Haese carries within him the artistic legacy of a Belgian family steeped in sculpture and music — with names like Reinhoud (COBRA) and Roel d’Haese among his lineage. His work speaks in the voice of forgotten tales, echoing through time and space. His characters — always men or children — hover in an ageless dimension, where time blurs and stories unfold in whispers.

• His sculptures are more than bronze; they are vessels of hope and vitality, silently humming with the belief in humanity and the rhythm of the universe. Each piece pulses with a force that goes beyond the physical form — a heartbeat that speaks directly to the viewer's soul.

• Lieven D’Haese’s figures seem to sway in unseen winds, their garments sculpted with such finesse that they appear to move, breathe, and speak. Through this flowing fabric, the artist captures a message of movement — of life as a continuous current. His subjects open themselves with tenderness and courage: hearts forward, heads lifted, arms open to the unknown.
