The artist's intention was to materialize the 'TRACE ' that would leave the carved object on another media. Therefore, he created a link,... a dialogue between the sculpture and its...
The artist's intention was to materialize the "TRACE" that would leave the carved object on another media. Therefore, he created a link,... a dialogue between the sculpture and its footprints on the paper... between a very strong and eternal material and a very fragile and light support. This is the reason why Baldini carved the bottom of this sculptures series in the aim of printing this hidden drawing on the paper. In this respect, each sculpture has its own edited and hand signed lithography representing its own trace.
Provenance
Le temps dont nos rides sont la trace nous a offert- les flancs rocheux des grottes
- l'argile de sumer
- les pierres lissées des frontispices ou des colonnes chères aux grecs et aux romains
- les os séchés, le fussent ils par le soleil
- les tissus, déjà les coptes
- le papyrus jusqu'en grande Grèce
- le bois (l'escalier de Protat)
- puis de Pergame le parchemin et avant le support plastique:
le papier.
Le graveur était autrefois enfermé dans le temple,
les scribes et les copistes le furent
- bien au chaud
- dans les monastères avant que ne coule le plomb.

Des roseaux couchés,la feuille vierge
au filigrane inconnu
sous la main qui tremble,
le toucher révèle
le fruit du papier,
à force de caresses
mes doigts se sont parcheminés
à la recherche de ton dos.
Si long est le chemin
de ton épaule
à l'entrecuisse,
le temps ne peut
que recouvrir le temps
et le vent
soulever le rideau.
