Provenance
The series of "Gradient Glaze" is inspired by the spring colored by Japanese Sakura flowers in Kamo-gawa (also called: 鴨川, Kamo river, duck river), that is located in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan.The Kamo River has its source in the mountains in the area of Mount Sajikigatake.
In the past, it was a crucial source of relatively pure drinking water nurishing Kyoto city.
This river is also the source of the stone that is a glaze ingredient used in traditional Japanese raku pottery.
The teacups are in the simple yet graceful ancient forms of Song Dynasty porcelain (960 - 1279).
