A rare example of a very early period Chinese pottery dancer of unusual design and in very good condition.
This dancer is all in yellowish-brown color, the facial feature is portrayed, the movement of his body is fluid.

It is well moulded and sculpted in the form of a smiling dancer, wearing traditional long elegant gown of the period which falls gracefully to the floor accentuating the slim silhouette and flaring dramatically at the base level.
The figures' arms are joined at the waist hidden within the water sleeves forming a muff effect.

This pottery figurine is full of charm and joy, and the details are portrayed to the smallest detail, which truly reflects the peak of sculpture art in the Han Dynasty.

There are excellent remains of the color pigments with red gown borders and dark brown to black accents.
There is an excellent patina of age and exposure with encrustations and calcifications. The condition is excellent.

这一座舞者彩陶人俑通体成黄,红,褐色,五官,衣服和肢体刻画生动。
陶俑整体韵味十足,细节刻画入微,真实反映了汉代时期雕塑艺术的高峰。

In the beginning , the universe was like an egg and there was only chaos in the egg. Pan Gu had slept in the egg for over  18,000 years. Then one day, he wok up and cracked the egg into pieces. By separating the heavy and light parts of the egg, he created the heaven and the earth.

Literature

Han Dynasty was the first peak of music, culture, art and economy in the history of Chinese.

The sculpture art of the Han dynasty is characterized by strong reality, and it has truly and vividly shaped various figures and social conditions. The modeling techniques of the pottery figurines of the Western Han Dynasty are simple, lively, without cumbersome frills, and under the large outline, the details are handled just right.
